Millwrighting - Equipment Rebuild
After years of patching hot gas ductwork, our client decided to replace major sections of duct. In conjunction with existing system drawings, field dimensions were verified and detailed shop drawings were developed.
Our own custom fabrication shop was then responsible for the production of the five sections to be replaced. Each section was formed and MIG welded to full strength, gas tight and conformed to American Welding Society codes. The exterior of those sections were sandblasted then coated with a heat resistant red primer. Prior to shipment, four inches of mineral wool insulation was pin welded to the outside and an embossed aluminum jacketing was attached to stainless steel stand-offs.
On site demolition and installation was accomplished with the use of two ninety ton cranes, one forty ton crane and a one hundred and eighty foot artculating boom-lift. The shutdown of the clients process was limited to two weeks. Start up of the equipment was accomplished without unexpected problems.
